<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25baRole of Management, Supervisors and Safety department in motivation is most important. They should adopt following measures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.Insist for adequate sensory motor abilities, appropriate muscular perceptual speed or right perceptual style, free from accident proneness,  disease or habit of intoxication, appropriate age, sex and good safety record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.By induction training new workers should be given necessary safety instruction and training regarding hazards and control measures in industry. This basic knowledge will build confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Schedule for above training should be designed properly to include hazards of raw materials and processes, safe operating procedures, work permit system, MSDS, labels and signs and role of workers in fire fighting and operation of On-site action plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Company\u2019s safety and health policy, environment policy, quality policy should be explained with their objectives and benefit. Organizational interest should be explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Workers\u2019 should be encouraged in participating safety committee, safety suggestions and safety programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Accident case studies should be explained at all levels by analyzing the different roles in preventing such accidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.Motivating thoughts should be explained with examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.Team spirit and competitiveness should be built up. This will induct group motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.Supervisors should take sufficient round to watch all workers under them and to guide them if any unsafe practice is noticed. Safety habit should be cultivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.Proper attention should be paid for basic needs of health, safety and welfare facilities under the F.A and GFR for the workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.Exploitation of any kind should be avoided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.Supervisor should recommend or the top management should take timely decision to give increment, promotion and other monetary benefits to the workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.Job rotation or job enrichment should be practiced as a technique of motivation as explained in Herzberg\u2019s theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.Introduce change in job if monotony is observed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.Insist for man-machine matching i.e desinging of machine, tools, equipment, controls and situations most convienent to people at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.Opportunity for advancement of R&D work, new product, new market, new safety device and delegation of more powers should be given to deserving workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.Bureaucratic and dictatorial behavior retards motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.Annual work assessment report for individual employee should not be written with any bias or by misusing the power. This will certainly de-motivate the worker.
