Noxious gas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>       Irritant gas: chlorine, ammonia, SO2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>       Systemic poison: benzene, nickel carbonyl etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>       Simple asphyxiate: nitrogen, methane, CO2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>      Chemical asphxiants: CO, hydrogen sulfide, HCN<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> 3. Dust (P.M)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Biological agents and disease <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>       Virus, bactaria, fugi, parasites etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chemicals should be properly identified, classified and handled accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this purpose some major divisions are given below;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corrosive chemicals: bromine, caustic soda,flourine, sulfuric acid, sulfur chloride, hydrazine, phenol etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxidizing agent: aluminum nitrate, ammonium nitrate, perchlorate, zinc chlorate, zinc peroxide etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carcinogens: asbestos, aniline, benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, styrene, phenol etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poisonous chemicals: bromide, chloride, arsenic acid, cyclohexane, phenol, nickel cyanide, phosgene, DDT etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pesticides- Insecticides: aldrine, acephate, BHC, cupric sulfate etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explosive chemicals: carbon dust, aluminum dust, wood saw dust, potassium nitrate etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solvents: methanol, ethanol, benzene, toluene etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other flammable chemicals: LPG, ethylene, ethylene oxide, phosphorous, vinyl chloride etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reactive chemicals: acetic acid, acetone, sodium, potassium, magnesium aluminium powder etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alcohols: methyl, ethyl, amyl etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refrigerant gases: ammonia, freon, carbon dioxide etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esters: borate, benzoate, cynate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ethers: thio ethers, vinyl ethers etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enzymes: catalase, deaminase, lactose etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resins: allyl, aminoplastic etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acids:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In organic: hydorchloric, hydrobromic, hydrofloric etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organic: acetic, acrylic, adipic, benzoic etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compatible<\/strong>: means which can be stored or handled with that chemical to which it is compatible<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Incompatible<\/strong>: means which should not be stored or handled with that chemicals to which it is incompatible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td>Chemicals<\/td><td>Incompatible chemicals<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Ammonia<\/td><td>Mercury, chlorine, calcium hypochlorite, iodine, bromine and hydrogen floride<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Chlorine<\/td><td>Ammonia, acetylene, hydrogen, benzene<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Oxygen<\/td><td>Oils, grease, hydrogen,<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Phosphurs<\/td><td>Air, oxygen<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sulfuric acid<\/td><td>Chlorate, per chlorates, permanganets<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>READ MORE :- MSDS\/SDS section. -09 &amp; Interpretation and use of MSDS\/SDS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Identification and classification of chemicals Identification of chemicals begin with knowledge of basic chemistry.
