\u2022The factors impeding i.e retarding or reducing the safety are those factors which go against the efforts for safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022It is necessary to identify such negative factors and remove them for the purpose of safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Management Level:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1.Passive interest by management. No safety policy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Poor maintenance of machine and equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Poor working conditions or not providing lighting and ventilation, safety guards, devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Poor infrastructure of the organization<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Poor financial condition of the organization or not providing sufficient safety budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Improper layout and location of plants, building, machinery<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.Improper methods, procedures or use of raw materials, machines, equipments etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.Improper design or selection of tools, machines, materials, vessels<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.Improper selection or placement of men, machines, methods, tools<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.Lack of awareness and insistence for safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.Lack of motivation and participation for safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.Lack of safety aspects in accident prevention<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.Lack of inspection, supervision and training for safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.Frequent changes in shifts, working hours and calling workers for overtime<\/p>\n\n\n\n

15.Ageing or corrosion of machines, plants and building<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.No written rules for job description, procedure and safe production<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.Absence of safety organization for proper and continuous attention in safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.Compromising safety with production<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Workers Level:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1.Passive interest by workers in safety. No or less participation in safety programmes including safety committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Insufficient knowledge, qualification and training for the job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Not maintaining the machine guards, safety devices, equipments etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Reluctant to use PPE and other safety equipment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Indiscipline, laziness, disobedience for safety rules for whatsoever reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Non co-operation to the management to carry out regular as well as emergency duty for safety close down the running of plant and process to avoid accidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.Improper attention or judgment on the matters of safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.Poor socio-economic status, financial hardship, family problems, worries etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.Guided by personal (psychological) factors causing unsafe actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.Misuse of guards, safety devices, protective equipments etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Government Level:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Non enacting or amending requisite safety laws and poor or non-implementation of the enacted safety laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Poor or no incentives, awards, rewards, subsidy, rebates and encouragement to employers and employees for their safety efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
