| b | Are there cracks, depression, signs of weakening, kinks, distortion ? (The chain is rejected even a single link is damaged.) | ||
| c | Check the gears | ||
| 5 | Condition of the operating chain. | ||
| 6 | Condition of the lifting hook: | ||
| a | Are securing means of the hook in ok condition? | ||
| b | Is the Throat Opening ok? (Reject if distortion causing an increase in throat opening exceed 15 %) | ||
| c | Are there signs of Wear or rusting. (Reject if any wear exceeding 10 percent of the original section dimension of the hook or its load pin.) | ||
| d | Are there any Deformation. (Reject if any bending or twisting exceed 10 degrees from the plane of the unbent hook.) | ||
| e | Are there cracks, depression, signs of weakening? | ||
| 7 | Is the hook safety latch available and is in operating condition? | ||
| 8 | Is the suspention hook / lug in good condition? | ||
| 9 | Are all the split pins for all locking pin / nut bolt in place | ||
| C | Internal Features: (Remove the outer cover but do not dismantle the components inside) | ||
| 10 | Physical condition of the inner shell, whether corroded, rusted, cracked etc. | ||

| a | Are they placed well in their original position? | ||
| b | Are the gears physically in good condition? | ||
| 12 | Are the Bearings, Pins, Rollers in good repair? | ||
| 13 | Is the Operation chain wheel ok? | ||
| 14 | Load sprocket, idler sproket, in acceptable condition? | ||
| 15 | Is the CAM / Rachet in good repair? (Do not dismantle the same). | ||
| 16 | Are the nuts, bolts are properly placed and fits well in place? | ||
